Many people associate the word diet with a meal regimen designed to lose weight. I view diet as a healthy lifestyle rather than a program, fad or trend that is bio-individual or unique to YOU. This lifestyle encompasses nourishing yourself in all areas of health, moving in ways that feel authentic to you, and choosing foods that support your optimal health and well-being.
People are hypnotized by nutrition theories. Nutrition information is often taken from the news, blogs, magazines, social media, or books, and when a specific dietary approach doesn’t work for someone, it can bring on a sense of failure. I teach that nutrition isn’t “one size fits all” as I understand there are many factors (including culture and health status) that influence why we choose the foods we do. We encourage you to trust your body and explore what foods work best for you. You will flourish when you adopt a way of eating created with your bio-individuality in mind.
While many aspects of nutrition are highly bio-individual, we all share some common nutritional needs. This encompasses the vital nutrients – water, vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins, and fat – essential for optimal health.
