Deep shoulder stretches can help to improve flexibility in the shoulders and upper back, as well as alleviate muscle tension and pain in these areas. It is important to perform these stretches properly, and to ease into them gradually, to avoid injury. It’s also recommended to do it after warming up the body first.
I highly recommend this yoga-inspired stretch, which I find to be particularly beneficial for weightlifters who may be uncertain about incorporating yoga into their exercise routine.
