Despite doing everything "right," your body isn't responding how you expected and none of your routines from your 20's or 30's work anymore. Maybe you lose a few pounds here and there. Maybe you manage to keep it off for a few days or a few months. It doesn't sustain.
What to eat. When to eat. I shouldn't eat this. Should I eat this? Will this make me fat? Will this make me thin? How much protein do I need? Should I eat carbs? Keto, Low-Fat, Vegan, Carnivore, Fasting... It's maddening.
The fact is that by 40 most people have developed habits that lead to perpetual weight gain. We need to dig in with absolute honesty and an open mind to see what can be modified for the better. This whole thing will not work if you are not ready to make real changes in your lifestyle.

Perspective:
Exercise alone will never work for weight loss until your diet is under full controlLose the Fat, Keep the Muscle.
I help people lose body fat by helping them understand food and by incorporating enjoyable, natural movement into their lives. I help people break free from the grip of food fixation and the obsession with annihilating themselves with cardio workouts.
And one of those people is me.
I didn't set out to become a Before and After photo: I set out to reverse my steady weight gain after I hit 40, my obvious abdominal & visceral fat, full body bloat and inflammation, unmanageable energy levels, alcohol fueled binges and uncontrollable hunger. Sound familiar?
The time period between my before and after pics is about six years. I achieved a significant amount of my 30lb weight loss in the first few months but it was the reduction of bloat and heaviness that was most notable. Within the first 4 weeks of making my transition, I had moved my belt two notches tighter, I found myself with more energy than I knew what to do with; my appetite truly managed; and I was no longer a slave to food fixation.

Lay the foundation
Years later, I continue to get a little leaner, month after month, without even thinking about it.
The protocol I used on myself to bring me back from the brink of chronic inflammation, fatty liver disease, bloat, being heavy, uncomfortable and which afforded me this sustainable weight loss, is exactly what I will navigate you through. It works. It creates the foundation for the healthy relationship with food & movement that I'm always going on and on about.
What you can't see in the "After" picture is just how liberated I feel. Liberated from the cycle of dieting after binge eating and lifting weights all Winter. Freed from cardio obsession. Detached, at long last, from being uncomfortable, bulky and cumbersome. Having no issues, ever, about how much and what to eat. Now I am comfortable with my shirt on or off. In a suit with a jacket or a bathing suit. The heaviness and burden left me.
So if posting unflattering Before and After photos helps you make the decision, it's worth it. I know I can help you - whether you have 100lbs to lose or 30lbs or 5.
